Baxter Health Fulton County Hospital has added new IV pumps with enhanced safety features, made possible through a donation from an anonymous local donor.

Hospital officials say the upgraded equipment is designed to improve accuracy and usability in patient care. The pumps are commonly used in larger healthcare systems and are now available for patients at the rural facility.

Representatives from Baxter Healthcare Corporation visited the Fulton County Hospital campus Tuesday to provide hands-on training for nursing staff on the new equipment.

Chief Nursing Officer Erika Sneed said the addition of the upgraded pumps reflects ongoing efforts to enhance patient care. Sneed said “These are the same devices used in large healthcare systems, so our patients, while enjoying all the advantages of living in a rural area, are able to receive high-quality care with the assistance of state-of-the art technology. We’re grateful to donors who recognize the value of our rural hospital and continue to support our work with these generous donations.”

Following the completion of staff training, the new IV pumps are now in use in patient rooms.

Those interested in supporting the hospital through volunteer work or charitable donations can contact hospital administrator EZ Niles at 870-895-2691.
