MH baseball falls despite outhitting Bentonville West

The Mountain Home Bombers baseball team out-hit Bentonville West but came up short in a 7-4 loss Thursday.

The Bombers collected 10 hits compared to just five for Bentonville West, with Rowan Askew leading the way with three hits.

Mountain Home opened the scoring in the first inning when Koen Bickford delivered an RBI single. Bentonville West answered in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, then took control in the third with the help of an error and a sacrifice bunt to go ahead 4-2.

Drew Haney started on the mound for the Bombers, allowing four runs — none earned — over two and one-third innings. Bentonville West starter Parker Wilber gave up two runs on five hits in three and two-thirds innings.

Bickford, Jax Wescoat, Brody Brown and Askew each drove in a run for Mountain Home, while Jackson Corp added two hits. The Bombers also turned a double play in the game.

Bentonville West was led by Jayden Wilson, who went 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Mountain Home drops to 6-3 on the year, Bentonville West improves to 3-8.

The Bombers will be back in action Friday.
