Mountain Home sales tax collections increase in March report

Sales tax collections in Mountain Home continued to trend upward in the latest report reflecting January 2026 sales.

According to Finance and Treasury Director Alma Clark, the city’s total sales tax collection for March was $532,315, an increase of $25,641, or just over 5%, compared to the same month last year. Year-to-date collections are up $68,207, a 3.94% increase.

Mountain Home’s share of county sales tax also saw growth, totaling $253,825 for the month, up 6.43% from last year. Year-to-date collections in that category have increased by $52,832, or 6.6%.

Public safety sales tax revenue totaled $199,618, rising $9,615 from a year ago, while year-to-date collections are up $25,577, an increase of 3.94%.

Park improvement sales tax collections reached $266,157 for the month, exceeding the city’s monthly bond payment requirement by more than $51,000. Parks operations sales tax collections totaled $133,078.

The continued growth reflects steady economic activity in the area.
