A fire Wednesday morning at Cranor’s White River Lodge left heavy damage to the main lodge building.
The call for the lodge, located along the White River near Cotter, came in at 6 a.m. according to Cotter-Gassville Rural Fire Chief Jimmy Morgan. The chief stated that fire appeared to have been burning in a wall from the night before as security cameras turned off at 10 the previous night.

No one was inside during the fire and no injuries were reported. None of the outlining cabins or buildings sustained any damage. Fire fighters from Cotter-Gassville Rural, Cotter, Gassville and Midway Fire Departments all responded with crews on scene for 90 minutes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
