
No. 17 Arkansas came up just short Tuesday night, falling to Missouri State 15-14 in 10 innings in a back-and-forth contest at Hammons Field.The game featured nine lead changes and eight combined home runs, with Missouri State sealing the win on a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Arkansas matched Missouri State’s offensive output throughout the night, blasting four home runs of its own. Camden Kozeal led the Razorbacks with a 4-for-5 performance, including a double, a home run and five RBIs. Nolan Souza and Christian Turner each added three RBIs, with both hitting home runs, while Ryder Helfrick contributed a solo shot.
Despite the offensive production, Arkansas was unable to contain Missouri State’s lineup. The Bears scored 14 runs on 12 hits through nine innings, including six runs in the second inning and three runs each in the fourth and sixth.
Missouri State tied the game with two runs in the ninth before delivering the game-winner in extra innings.
Steele Eaves started on the mound for Arkansas, allowing four runs in one inning of work. Several Razorback relievers followed, including Jackson Kircher, who tossed 1.1 scoreless innings, and Parker Coil and Cooper Dossett, who combined for five innings of relief.
With the loss, Arkansas falls to 19-11 overall and 6-2 in midweek games this season.
The Razorbacks will return to action Thursday when they open an SEC series at No. 18 Auburn. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
