A Marion County man was arrested after threatening a man with a knife leading to an altercation between the two. Twenty-five-year-old Brandon Allen Schlotman of Summit is facing a felony charge for the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Marion County Sherif’s Office, a deputy responded to a residence Monday night where Schlotman said two men attacked him. He said one knocked him down and the other continued to beat him in the face with his fist. He said the other man also struck him while he was on the ground.
The deputy went to another residence a short distance away to interview the other men where the incident occurred. The man who Schlotman said knocked him down said Schlotman threatened the other man with a knife. That man then pushed Schlotman into trash cans and started hitting him in the face with his fist. The other man said he tried to break the two of them up, but never struck him.
The deputy interviewed another witness who saw the entire event and gave the same account of what happened.
Schlotman is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault. He is free after posting $10,000 bond. He is also ordered to have no contact with the victim.
