
“The Handmaid’s Tale” author Margaret Atwood is set to visit Fayetteville later this month for a public lecture hosted by the University of Arkansas.Atwood will speak April 14 at 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Center as part of the university’s Distinguished Lectures Committee series. The event is titled “A Conversation on Literature, Power, and the Future.”
According to information released by the university, admission will be free for students. Tickets are scheduled to become available Monday.
Atwood is widely regarded as one of the most influential contemporary writers, with a body of work that spans fiction, poetry and literary criticism. Her most notable work, “The Handmaid’s Tale” has seen renewed popularity after it’s adaptation into an award winning TV series.
