
The Mountain Home track teams turned in strong performances at the Russellville Cyclone Relays, with both the Bombers and Lady Bombers finishing second overall.
The Lady Bombers scored 122 points to place second behind Bentonville West’s 234.5.
Camilla Johnson continued her record-setting season, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 15.59 and the 300-meter hurdles in 46.99, improving her own school record in the 100 hurdles. Eliana Pepin claimed first in both the high jump and long jump with personal-best marks of 5-1 and 16-7.
Jada Johnson tied the school record in the 200 meters with a time of 26.32 to finish second and also placed second in the 400 with a personal-best 1:01.32, ranking second all-time among Lady Bombers. The 4×800 relay team took first with a time of 10:55.5, while Trinity McGlone won the 3200 meters in 13:48.16. Livi Fosness added a third-place finish in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 32-8.
On the boys side, the Bombers totaled 118 points to also finish second behind Bentonville West’s 239.
The 4×800 relay team of Payne, Free, Smith and Barr claimed first with a time of 8:06.81, ranking No. 1 across all classifications. The 4×400 team of Souder, Ballard, Barr and Wilber also took first, defeating Bentonville West and posting a time of 3:23.04, which ranks second in school history and meets the automatic state qualifying standard.
Isaac Ballard placed third in the 100 meters with a personal-best 11.13, while Drew Vigna was third in the 400 with a personal-best 52.02. Garrett Barr finished second in the 800 with a personal-best 1:59.38, and Jackson Free placed second in the 1600 in 4:28.34 before winning the 3200 in 9:36.13. Trenton Smith and Levi Payne added second- and third-place finishes in the 3200.
Gus Wilber placed second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 41.73.
The Bombers and Lady Bombers will return to action April 10 at the Fayetteville Bulldog Relays.
