Pulling a knife on a co-worker and threatening to kill him has led to the arrest of an Izard County man. The incident at a worksite in Salem April 6 has led to three felony charges against 41-year-old Steven Luke Burns of Oxford.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Burns started complaining and arguing with a co-worker about their job. He then picked up a hot part and threw it at him, but instead hit another man. The man Burns was arguing with started walking towards Burns and Burns pulled a knife on him. The man struck Burns while the man who was hit with the object Burns threw was able to get the knife away from him. Another man separated the men.

The man who had the knife pulled on him then went to get a pair of work gloves and Burns jumped on his back. Another worker pulled him off and Burns was told to leave the property.

Later that day, another employee met Burns after the workday to give him a ride home. Burns told her what happened. He also said he was going to kill the man he pulled the knife on and destroy his car. He said he would stab the cops or anyone else who gets in his way.

Burns is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of terroristic threatening. He is free after posting $5,000 bond.
