Woman arrested for breaking into house, threatening residents, wrecking vehicle, fleeing on foot

A Taney County woman has been arrested for breaking into a house in Ozark County during the night while she was intoxicated, threatening the residents, then leaving the scene in her vehicle which she wrecked and fled the scene on foot. Facing four charges, including one felony, for the incident is Beth Ann Vonelling of Protem.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, Vonelling broke into the residence late in the evening of April 11 and threatened the occupents, apprearing intoxicated and acting erratic. She made multiple verbal threats, including having her boyfriend and others come to harm one of the occupants of the home.

After leaving the home, Vonelling left and traveled west on U.S. Highway 160 before she crashed her vehicle shortly after midnight a short distance from its intersection with Missouri State Highway 125. After the accident, Vonelling fled on foot.

Vonelling is facing a felony charge of first degree burglary along with misdemeanor charges of second degree harassment, peace disturbance and fourth degree assault. She is being held without bond pending her first court appearance.
