ASP traffic stop on I-57 leads to seizure of 6 kilos of cocaine

Arkansas State Police (ASP) Troopers seized approximately six kilograms of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop Sunday morning on Interstate 57 in White County.

Around 9:30 a.m., a Trooper initiated a stop on a Chevrolet Silverado near mile-marker 48 for a traffic violation. Troopers searched the vehicle and located six kilograms of suspected cocaine.



The driver, a 33-year-old from south Texas, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the White County Detention Center, where he was booked on charges of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and additional related offenses.

The suspect told investigators he was traveling to St. Louis, Missouri.

The investigation is ongoing.
