
Local students will get an opportunity Tuesday to learn about America’s founding documents through a program hosted by the Donald W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County.
The program, titled America250 for Youth, is designed for students in grades 6 through 9. The after school program will run from 4 to 7 this evening.
Library Marketing Coordinator Andrea Belt says the afternoon will be a fun way to learn about the Declaration of Independence.

Included will be a reading and discussion of the Declaration of Independence Translated for Kids, along with a script reading of the play Bound Together, which focuses on the creation of the U.S. Constitution. Participants will also examine the differences between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, review historical compromises and take part in critical thinking activities.
The program will feature author Cathy Travis.
