A Missouri man is facing multiple charges after a 110 miles-per-hour pursuit in the city of Harrison followed by a foot pursuit before he was found hiding under a vehicle. Nineteen-year-old Charles Matthew Hutcherson of Brighton, Missouri is being held in the Boone County Detention Center.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Harrison Police Department, law enforcement was notified of two cars racing on U.S. Highway 62/65 in the area of Clay Maxey Ford on April 11. A short time later, an officer spotted one of the vehicles traveling north at 64 miles-per-hour in a 40 miles-per-hour zone. That officer initiated a pursuit but lost sight of the vehicle near Walmart Drive.

A second officer was behind the pursuit and was stationed near north of Airport Road and encountered the vehicle which was now traveling south, back into the city, at 90 miles-per-hour.

The officer began a pursuit and by the time they passed Walmart Drive, speeds had reached 110 miles-per-hour. The pursuit turned right on Hester Drive and then left onto Glenview Street. At the intersection of Glenview and Gipson Road, Hutcherson stopped the vehicle and fled on foot into the Rock Springs Apartment complex. After a short foot pursuit, Hutcherson was found hiding under a vehicle and taken into custody.

Hutcherson is facing a felony charge of fleeing in a vehicle along with misdemeanor charges of second degree criminal mischief, fleeing on foot, reckless driving, driving 24 miles-per-hour over the speed limit, and not having insurance.

His bond is set at $35,000.

PREVIOUS ARRESTS

Hutcherson has two previous arrests in Greene County, Missouri this year.

March 29, 12 days prior to his arrest in Harrison, Hutcherson received 10 charges from the Missouri State Highway Patrol when he fled during a traffic stop.

Once Hutcherson stopped, the trooper found approximately 20 empty beer cans on the floorboard.

Among the charges he picked up for that incident were aggravated fleeing, DWI and speeding.

Two days prior to that, Hutcherson was arrested in Springfield on charges of DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. He was driving recklessly in a parking lot and struck another vehicle.
