
The Mountain Home Bombers had trouble keeping up with Van Buren in a 13-1 loss Thursday.
Van Buren jumped out early, scoring six runs in the first inning and adding to the lead in the second to take control of the game.
The Pointers pushed the advantage to 11-1 by the third and never looked back.
Drew Haney took the loss for Mountain Home, allowing 10 runs over one and two-thirds innings.
Jackson Corp drove in the Bombers’ lone run.
Van Buren collected 11 hits in the game, led by Truett Cazzell with three hits, while Weston Wilcox earned the win, allowing one run over five innings and striking out 11.
With the loss, Mountain Home drops to 12-7 overall and 8-3 in the 5A West. Van Buren improves to 16-6 and 9-1 in conference play, maintaining control of the top spot in the conference.
The Bombers will look to bounce back in their next matchup against Batesville.
