Gas prices are continuing to trend downward across Arkansas, according to AAA.
The latest Arkansas Weekend Gas Watch shows the statewide average at $3.57 per gallon, down seven cents from last week. Prices remain significantly higher than a year ago, up 79 cents.
The current statewide average matches the Jonesboro metro average.
AAA spokesperson Nick Chabarria says drivers are seeing some relief, but global factors could still impact prices.
“Drivers across Arkansas are getting a small break as gas prices move lower for the second week in a row,” Chabarria said. “That said, oil markets are still reacting to events overseas, and any new disruption involving global crude supply could affect what drivers pay in the weeks ahead.”
Regionally, the lowest prices are in the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers area at $3.38 per gallon, while the highest are in Texarkana at $3.74 per gallon.
