Mountain Home’s Case Hardin is among the top shooters to watch as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Shooting Sports Program begins regional competition this weekend.
Hardin recently captured Grand Champion Tournament Shooter honors at a spring competition, outlasting two other shooters in a seven-round shoot-off after all three posted perfect scores. His performance earned him a lifetime hunting and fishing license.
Regional competition begins Friday and Saturday at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville, with events continuing over the next four weeks.
Approximately 5,700 students across Arkansas will compete, with the top teams advancing to the state tournament set for May 29-30.
Program officials say this year’s field is wide open, with strong competition expected across both junior and senior divisions.
The Youth Shooting Sports Program continues to grow statewide, with increasing participation and expanded opportunities for students to compete at the collegiate level and earn scholarship money.
