Ozark County woman seriously injured when vehicle leaves roadway, hits tree

An Ozark County woman was seriously injured when a vehicle she was a passenger in left the roadway and hit a tree. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says the 62-year-old woman from Tecumseh was airlifted to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment of her injuries.The MSHP does not release the names of those involved in motor vehicle or boating accidents.

According to the report, the crash happened when the vehicle driven by a 67-year-old man from Tecumseh left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, sign and fence.

The accident happened on U.S. Highway 160, five miles east of Gainesville at 11:16 Tuesday night.
