No. 24 Arkansas couldn’t overcome an early deficit Saturday afternoon, falling 6-1 to Missouri in the series finale at Taylor Stadium.

The Tigers struck quickly, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second to take a 5-0 lead. Arkansas starter Colin Fisher lasted just 1.1 innings, allowing five runs on four hits and a walk.

The Razorbacks’ bullpen settled things down the rest of the way. Gabe Gaeckle, Parker Coil and Cooper Dossett combined to allow just one run over the final 6.2 innings while striking out nine.

Offensively, Arkansas struggled to capitalize on opportunities, stranding six runners and going 2-for-14 with runners on base. The Hogs avoided a shutout in the ninth inning when Zack Stewart drove in a run on a fielder’s choice.

Despite the loss snapping a nine-game winning streak against Missouri, Arkansas still secured the series win, marking its fourth straight series victory in Columbia and sixth consecutive series win over the Tigers.

The Razorbacks return home to Baum-Walker Stadium for a two-game midweek series against Northwestern State to close out the month.
