A rural Mountain Home woman was arrested while waiting in the school pick up line at Pinkston Middle School Friday afternoon. Forty-year-old Brandilynn Joyce Walker was arrested at the scene.
According to the incident report from the Mountain Home Police Department, the school resource officer (SRO) was contacted by a teacher about a vehicle in the car line causing a disturbance by the driver revving the engine.
When the SRO made contact with Walker and she exited the vehicle, he noticed the odor of marijuana. The department’s drug dog was brought in to conduct a free-air sniff, but did not alert. Walker did provide a medical marijuana card.
A portable breath test was administered and Walker’s breath alcohol concentration was at 0.13, above the legal limit of 0.08. While her vehicle was being processed prior to being towed, an empty bottle of whiskey was found inside.
Walker was taken to the police department for a certified breath test which also yielded a 0.13 breath alcohol concentration.
Walker is charged with driving while intoxicated – first offense and having an open container in a motor vehicle. She is free after posting $1,340 bond.
Mountain Home School District Superintendent Allyson Dewey says the situation caused a bit of a delay in releasing kids to their parents at Pinkston Middle School Friday, but there was never any danger for the students or staff.

Dewey says she is appreciative of the Mountain Home Police Department’s quick response and the way they handled the situation.
