Fulton County man seriously injured when motorcycle hits animal in road

A Fulton County man was seriously injured when his motorcycle hit an animal in the roadway according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). The 38-year-old from Salem was flown to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment.

The MSHP does not release the names of those involved in motor vehicle or boating accidents.

According to the accident report, after the man’s motorcycle hit the animal, it traveled off the left side of the roadway and he was ejected.

The crash happened on Missouri State Highway 17, eight miles south of West Plains at 7:30 Saturday morning.
