
It was opening day for the Mountain Home Youth Football teams on Saturday. The Mountain Home Blue teams played host to Thayer and the Gold squads went on the road to Highland. It was a rough morning for the Gold 3rd grade team as they were defeated 28-0. The 4th grade game was not much better for the gold as they were beat by the Rebels 26-0. The most lopsided game of the day in Highland saw the Bombers get beat 42-0. The Gold teams did pick up one win as they defeated the Rebels 18-6. The gold team will be in front of the home crowd next Saturday against Salem.
The Mountain Home Blue teams played in front of a raucous Bomber Stadium crowd. The 3rd grade team started off the day with a 14-0 victory over Thayer. Mountain Home would strike big in the 4th grade game as the Bombers claimed a 35-0 victory over the Bobcats. The 5th grade game was a mercy rule the other direction as it saw Thayer defeat Mountain Home 35-0. The day was closed out with a 9-0 victory for the Thayer Bobcats. The blue team will be on the road next week against Highland.
