
A quick response from multiple area fire departments saved a home north of Gassville after a detached garage caught fire early Thursday morning.
The call came in around 4:45 for a structure fire on County Road 715, just off Highway 126. Crews from Cotter Gassville Rural, Midway, Gassville, and Cotter fire departments rushed to the scene.
Cotter Gassville Rural Engine 82 was first to arrive, finding heavy flames coming from the detached garage. Firefighters quickly worked to protect the nearby home while additional units arrived. Thanks to their efforts, the house was spared from the fire.
In total, 12 fire units and 18 firefighters battled the blaze, using about 7,300 gallons of water. No injuries were reported.
Assistance also came from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter Health, North Arkansas Electric Cooperative, and Baxter County 911 Dispatch.
