Postseason play began on Tuesday for the Bomber and Lady Bomber golf clubs in Alma. The Bombers and Lady Bombers competed in the 5A-west conference tournament. Mountain Home needed to finish in the top 3 to make the state tournament as a team. And they did just that. Harrison would defeat Russellville in a playoff, both finishing with a score of 304. Mountain Home would finish 8 strokes behind at 312. Greenwood would be the first team cut at 323, followed by Alma at 342, Van Buren at 348, Siloam Springs at 355 and Farmington rounded out the field at 75 strokes over par. The individual crown would be claimed by Cody Cormican shooting a 68, winning by just 1 stroke over Russellville’s Riley Davis. Mountain Home’s Jack Coleman was, in addition to Cormican, named an all-conference team member, finishing in 10th place with a 77. Jake Brashears would finish in 13th with an 82. Braxton Blagg finished 19th overall at 85, and Teagan Booy rounded out the Bomber scorecard with an 88 in 25th place.

The Bombers will move on to compete, as a team, in the state tournament that will be held at Pine Bluff Country Club from October 6-8th.

The Lady Bombers saw their season come to an end finishing just 10 strokes behind the cutline. Mountain Home’s Anna Torres paced the Lady Bombers with an 88 finishing 6th. Abby Edens finished in 11th with a 96. Ashley Smith finished with a 110 in 16th. And rounding out the Lady Bombers scorecard was Molly Wright in 19th at 123. Abby Edens and Anna Torres’ individual performances were good enough for them to make state that will take place next week in Jonesboro.
