The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public that a Level 3 registered sex offender has moved to a new address outside Mountain Home city limits.
Shaun David McCague, 38, now resides at 229 CR 672, Unit #1, Mountain Home. McCague was convicted in Illinois in 2001 of aggravated criminal sexual assault involving a child and sentenced to four years in prison and 18 months of probation.
He has additional arrests in Illinois, including 2004 for aggravated criminal sexual abuse and 2013 and 2016 for sex offender registration violations. Court dispositions for these cases are not indicated.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that McCague is not wanted by law enforcement. Officials said the notification is intended to inform the public, not to incite fear, and warned that harassment or intimidation of registered offenders is prohibited.
