John Wells to be named to MH Athletic Hall of Honor

John Wells will be honored this Saturday when he is inducted into the Mountain Home Athletic Hall of Honor. The banquet, beginning at 1:00, will recognize Wells’ achievements as a standout athlete and his lasting contributions to the Mountain Home sports community.Wells, a 1989 graduate of Mountain Home High School, was a standout athlete during his time at the school, excelling in football, baseball, and other sports. Born on March 26, 1971, in Dumas, Arkansas, Wells spent his early years moving between Dumas, North Little Rock, and Fordyce before his family settled in Mountain Home in 1980. His father, Duke Wells, served as a head football coach, instilling a love for athletics and sportsmanship in John from an early age.

KTLO News spoke with Wells who describes his early life and what it was like coming to Mountain Home when he was 10.

Throughout his high school career, Wells was recognized for his talent, leadership, and dedication to his teams. His contributions helped shape Mountain Home’s athletic programs, and his legacy continues to inspire young athletes in the community today.

Alexander will be celebrated at the 2025 Mountain Home Athletic Hall of Honor Banquet on Saturday starting at 1:00.
