The Mountain Home Lady Bombers traveled to Jonesboro to attempt to complete a season sweep of the Valley View Blazers on Tuesday. The Lady Bombers were defeated in 4 sets by the score of 3 sets to 1. The night began with a 100 year celebration of Valley View High School which included a recognition of Valley View volleyball alumni, including, the recognition of Lady Bomber Head Coach, and captain of the 2003 Lady Blazer Volleyball team, the first in the school’s history. The first set was very lopsided ending with the Blazers burning the Bombers 25-9. Set 2 saw the Lady Bombers bounce back in a big way winning the second set 26-24. Set 3 Valley View would bounce back with a 25-19 win. The Blazers would complete their attempt at revenge with a 25-17 set 4 victory to end the match 3 sets to 1 in favor of Valley View.The 7th grade suffered their first loss of the year in their final match with a 2-0 loss. They finish their season 12-1. The 8th grade played a 2 set match and the match was played to a 1-1 draw. The 9th grade match saw the NEA conference regular season champion Lady Bombers fall to the Blazers 2 sets to 1.
The 9th grade will finish their season on Saturday in the NEA Junior High Conference Tournament. The Varsity will compete in their final regular season road match on Thursday against Searcy.
