Deputies from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal welfare call on Highway 89, just west of Catfish Road, where they discovered 65-year-old Keith Reed, of Jacksonville, posing as a reserve deputy.
Reed, who has never been a law enforcement officer, was arrested on charges including criminal impersonation, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and false imprisonment.
Sheriff John Staley emphasized the seriousness of impersonating law enforcement, stating, “The badge represents integrity, accountability, and service to others. Anyone who chooses to exploit that symbol for personal gain or deception will be held fully responsible for their actions.”
According to LCSO, all animals on the property were found to be healthy.
