
The Mountain Home School Board of Education met Tuesday evening for its regular October session. The meeting included reports on academics, finances, technology, and facilities, along with several action items that were approved unanimously.In the facilities update, presented by Chris Knight, he reported that the roof replacement project at Guy Berry has been completed. The total cost was $687,165, and the district will receive roughly half of that amount back through reimbursement. Knight also gave an update on the district’s master plan, with action on the item passing unanimously.
Technology updates included ongoing Chromebook usage, installation of new fiber circuits, and a completed camera system featuring 416 cameras and 38 recorders which are all maintained in-house.
Under related party disclosures, the board approved a resolution to do business with Miranda Cotter for “The Boy with the Flower Eye,” a program that addresses students’ social and emotional needs. The board also approved contracted services for students with dyslexia and an academic services agreement with Patti Bell. Both measures passed unanimously.
Mrs. Judy Lawrence gave the academic report, which included results from the beginning-of-year i-Ready diagnostic testing for kindergarten through seventh grade.
