The Dallas Cowboys put together their most complete performance of the season Sunday, rolling past the Washington Commanders 44-22 behind a sharp outing from Dak Prescott and the return of star receiver CeeDee Lamb.Back from a three-game absence due to a high ankle sprain, Lamb made an immediate impact, hauling in a 74-yard touchdown pass from Prescott on a highlight play that also featured new teammate George Pickens celebrating alongside him into the end zone. Lamb finished with 110 yards on five catches, while Pickens added 82 yards on four receptions.
Prescott completed 21 of 30 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns, including two to tight end Jake Ferguson, who set an NFL record as the first tight end with at least 50 catches and six touchdowns in the first seven games of a season.
The Dallas defense also shined. Cornerback DaRon Bland returned an interception 68 yards for a touchdown after Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels exited in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. It was Bland’s sixth career pick-six, extending his reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous defensive playmakers.
Javonte Williams powered the ground game with 116 yards and a touchdown as Dallas (3-3-1) climbed back to .500.
For Washington (3-4), Daniels threw for 156 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. Backup Marcus Mariota led one scoring drive but struggled against a relentless Cowboys defense.
Kicker Brandon Aubrey added to the fireworks with a 61-yard field goal, his fifth of at least 60 yards this season, the most in NFL history.
The Cowboys will travel to Denver next Sunday, while the Commanders face a tough road matchup at Kansas City on Monday night.
