The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office will once again take part in the “National Take-Back Day” on Saturday, from 10 until 2, to help residents safely dispose of unwanted or expired medications.
Deputies will be set up in the parking lot of Tractor Supply Company, located at 1025 Highway 62 East in Mountain Home, to assist members of the public.

Officials say the effort helps reduce the risk of misuse, accidental poisoning, and environmental harm caused by improper disposal.
The event is free and no questions will be asked. Pills and medications can be dropped off in bottles, bags, or other disposable containers, and labels may be removed if desired. The process is simple, residents can drive up and drop off their items.
In addition to this event, the Sheriff’s Office maintains a secure drop box at 206 West 8th Street in Mountain Home. The box is accessible 24 hours a day and is monitored by video surveillance.
All medications collected will be destroyed using drug incinerator equipment. For more information, contact the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.
