Area basketball preview: Flippin takes on Sloan Hendrix, Cotter faces Omaha

Friday night brings plenty of hoops action across the area, with both senior girls and boys teams in action. In senior girls play, the Valley Springs Lady Tigers, 1-0 on the season, will travel to Alpena, who are 0-2, with tip-off at 4:30. Rural Special, 2-1, heads to Sloan Hendrix, who haven’t yet played this season, at 4:45. Lead Hill, 0-2, takes on Viola, also yet to open their season, at 5. Jasper, unbeaten at 2-0, travels to Timbo, 0-1, at 6, while Ozark Mountain, 1-0, goes to Kingston, 1-1, at the same time. Bergman, 1-0, will be on the road against West Side, also 1-0, with tip scheduled for 7:15.

In senior boys action, Riverside, 2-0, travels to take on Rural Special, 1-0, at 3:30. Omaha, 0-1, visits Cotter, 0-2, at 5, and Lead Hill, 1-0, heads to Viola, still seeking their first win, at the same time. Flippin, 1-0, will face Sloan Hendrix, who are also 1-0, while Valley Springs, 0-2, travels to St. Joseph, 1-1, with tip at 5:30. Mammoth Spring, 1-1, visits Marmaduke, 0-1, at 7, and Jasper, 2-0, will travel to Timbo, 1-0, at the same time. Ozark Mountain, 0-2, goes on the road against Kingston, also 0-2, and Bergman, winless at 0-0, travels to West Side, 1-1, with tip at 8:30.
