
The University of Central Arkansas let a late lead slip away Saturday, falling 18-17 to West Georgia at University Stadium despite a strong showing from quarterback Austin Myers and running back Landen Chambers.
Myers completed 21 of 30 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns, while Chambers rushed for 122 yards on 28 carries, marking his fifth straight 100-yard game.
The Bears (3-5, 2-2 UAC) led 17-6 early in the fourth quarter before West Georgia (6-3, 3-3) rallied with two touchdown passes from Owen Dupree, the second giving the Wolves the lead with 1:31 remaining. UCA’s final drive stalled on fourth down near midfield.
Myers connected with Arlie Lee and Malachi Henry for first-half touchdowns as the Bears built a 14-3 halftime lead. Caleb Jones added a 23-yard field goal in the third quarter.
UCA returns home next Saturday to face Eastern Kentucky in its Homecoming game at Estes Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
