
Local food bank websites saw the loss of access for their locator maps Wednesday due to the influx of visitors searching for location information.As the local area and the nation braces for a lack of funding for SNAP in November as the federal government remains closed Jeff Quick from the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas says their site and others where effected.

The sites are back in operation as of Thursday morning but Quick says their office has seen a significant increase in calls, visits and inquiries about their services.

The deadline for funding expires Friday for SNAP and WIC. Last week Arkansas Department of Human Services recommended those who require assistance following a lapse in benefits should seek out local food banks, churches and charities for further assistance.
