Bombers, Lady Bombers Cross Country Sweep 5A-West Titles

The Mountain Home Bomber Cross Country teams began their post seasons on Thursday at ASUMH.The day began with the senior girls meet. Although Siloam Spring’s Kagean Vandyke won the individual title by 20 seconds with a time of 19:30, Mountain Home’s Lucy Koehn came home in 2nd at 19:50. Other finishers for Mountain Home include Cisily Goettler in 4th at 20:07, Savannah Costner in 8th, at 20:31, Brook Bertalotto in 13th at 21:06, and Camilla Johnson in 14th with a time of 21:15. Koehn, Goettler, Costner, Bertalotto, and Johnson were all-conference selections for Mountain Home. With these finishes Mountain Home won the team title with 39 points. Russellville finished runner up at 57 points, Greenwood in 3rd at 61, Siloam Springs at 102, Alma at 140, and rounding out the field was Van Buren at 160.

Mountain Home’s boys ran away with the meet taking 4 of the top 5 spots. In a dominating performance Mountain Home’s Jackson Free set a new ASUMH course record with a 15:21. Garrett Barr came home in second with a time of 15:40. Third was Simeon Costner at 16:11. Rounding out the top 5 was Trenton Smith with a 16:22. Mountain Home also secured 8-11th. Levi Payne came home in 8th, Caidan Kaspar in 9th, Jonah Hartman in 10th, and Tyler Lukac in 11th. Rounding out the top 15 was Kohler Matthews. Sam Rodriguez finished 20th and Dylan Prins came home in 38th overall to round out the field for Mountain Home. Mountain Home finished in first with 19 points. Siloam Springs came home 2nd at 64 points, Russellville in 3rd at 97, Greenwood in 4th at 104, Farmington in 5th at 118, Harrison at 149 finished in 6th, and Van Buren rounded out the field at 209.
