Arkansans have spent more than $240.9 million on medical marijuana through the first 10 months of 2025, according to data released by the state Department of Finance and Administration.

That figure marks an increase of about $13 million over the same period last year, when sales totaled $227.8 million. Patients purchased 6,350 pounds of medical marijuana in September, spending $22.6 million, and another 6,883 pounds in October for $25.1 million in sales.

In Baxter County, Plant Family Therapeutics in Mountain Home, sold 143.82 pounds of medical marijuana in September, continuing its steady role as the region’s primary dispensary. The business serves patients across north-central Arkansas and remains a key contributor to the county’s medical marijuana market.

“In addition to the year-to-year increase in the overall spend, total pounds purchased this year are at 65,525, an increase of 3,400 pounds from 2024,” said DFA spokesperson Scott Hardin. “2025 sales should certainly surpass the previous annual record of $283 million.”

The Arkansas Department of Health reports 112,760 active patient cards statewide, reflecting continued demand across the state’s 38 licensed dispensaries.

Statewide, sales have climbed each year since dispensaries first opened in 2019, driven by new patient registrations and product expansion. Officials expect the state to set a new sales record before the end of 2025.
