The Baxter County Conservation District is offering a $500 scholarship to a local high school student planning to study agriculture, environmental science, or conservation.

The scholarship is part of a statewide education program administered by the Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts. Winners at the district level will be eligible to compete at the area and state level for additional awards, including $1,000 and $500 scholarships based on essay submissions.

The contest is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are Baxter County residents with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and who plan to pursue a conservation-related course of study. Entries must be submitted by Feb. 6, 2026, to the Baxter County Conservation District at 406 W. Wade Avenue, Suite 2.

High school counselors, 4-H leaders, FBLA and FFA sponsors, scout leaders, and county extension agents have entry forms and contest rules. Forms are also available at the Baxter County Library and the Cooperative Extension Service Office.

For more information, call the district office at 870-425-3527, Extension 3.
