Yellville-Summit, Flippin boys pick up wins on busy night of area hoops

Area schools were in action Friday night, with mixed results across senior boys and girls basketball games.At Yellville-Summit, the Panthers improved to 9-5 on the season with a 54-39 win over Valley Springs in senior boys play. The Lady Panthers were unable to complete the sweep, falling 71-39 to Valley Springs and dropping to 6-10 on the year.

Flippin picked up a dominant boys victory at home, as the Bobcats rolled past Mountain View 70-30 to move to 16-4. The Lady Bobcats struggled against a strong Yellowjackets squad and fell 82-17, slipping to 2-15 this season.

Salem remained winless in senior boys action, dropping an 81-53 decision to Bergman to fall to 0-5. In the girls game, the Lady Greyhounds were also defeated by Bergman, 45-31, as Salem moved to 7-5 on the year.

Lead Hill split on the road at Ozark Catholic. The Tigers came up short in a tight boys contest, falling 54-51 to drop to 15-4. The Lady Tigers edged Ozark Catholic by the same score, 54-51, evening their record at 8-8.

Marshall had a tough night at Sloan-Hendrix. The Bobcats were defeated 71-26 in senior boys action, falling to 1-11, while the Lady Bobcats dropped a 73-24 decision to slip to 5-9 on the season.
