A 23-year-old woman is in custody following the death of an infant in Little Rock, authorities said.

Little Rock Police Department officers responded around 11:14 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2025, to a medical call at a residence in the 33 block of Clifton Drive. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive infant.

Officers began CPR and the infant was transported to a local hospital, where the child later died despite life-saving efforts.

Detectives with the LRPD Major Crimes Division were called to the scene and launched an investigation. Police said the infant’s injuries were determined to be consistent with murder, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Following an interview with investigators, Erin Sauls, 23, was arrested and charged with capital murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
