
Mountain Home freshman Callie Kohler continued a record-setting season Thursday night, breaking a school mark in the 100-yard freestyle as the Bomber swim team competed in a multi-team meet in Russellville.
Kohler won the 100 freestyle in 54.22 seconds, breaking a 13-year-old school record previously held by Carly Arp. It marked Kohler’s third school record of the season. She also finished first in the 100 backstroke.
Several Bombers posted personal-best times during the meet. Campbell Wendfeldt recorded a new best in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.99. Bryce Litty cut more than nine seconds off his previous mark in the 200 freestyle, finishing in 2:25.33.
Tyler Edwards turned in two personal-best performances, shaving 8.88 seconds in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:41.22 and lowering his 100 backstroke time by nearly two seconds to 1:16.66.
On the girls side, Avery Haney posted new best times in both of her individual events, swimming the 100 freestyle in 1:18.97 and the 100 backstroke in 1:37.39. Annabelle Horn earned her second state-qualifying time of the season in the 100 freestyle, finishing in 1:02.40.
Levi Kaspar also recorded personal-best swims, posting times of 30.55 in the 50 freestyle and 1:12.96 in the 100 freestyle.
The Mountain Home boys finished third overall out of 11 teams, while the girls placed fourth in the overall standings.
The Bombers are scheduled to compete again next Thursday in Harrison.
