The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Jan. 17 in the parking lot of Saracen Casino.

Police said an officer contacted the driver of a black Ford Bronco, Richard Russell, following a reported “disturbance” in the lot. Authorities did not specify the nature of the disturbance.

The officer observed what appeared to be stab wounds on Russell. Russell identified 40-year-old Hershell Osgood as the person who stabbed him and said Osgood remained inside the vehicle.

Police said Osgood acted aggressively while wielding a knife and allegedly threatened others in the area. He was arrested at the scene without incident.

Osgood faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of first-degree battery. Russell was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment.
