
The Mountain Home Bomber basketball teams suffered a rough night in Farmington Tuesday night.
The night began with the 2 remaining undefeated girls teams in 5A-west conference play squaring off. Farmington would skate out to a 12-9 lead after a back-and-forth first quarter. The second quarter would see Livi Fosness score 4 of her 11 points in the second quarter, however, the Lady Bombers would trail 25-19 at halftime. The Cardinals would take flight in the third quarter and outscore Mountain Home 17-6 in the stanza to take a 42-25 lead into the final quarter. Farmington would finish off the night with a 52-31.
Livi Fosness led the Lady Bombers in scoring with 13 points.
Mountain Home falls to 13-6 and 4-1 in the 5A-west.
In other 5A-west girls action Siloam Springs upset Harrison 47-46, Greenwood defeated Russellville 66-51, and Van Buren vanquished Alma 52-42.
The boys game saw 2 teams that were in the top 4 of the 5A-west standings facing off. Mountain Home’s Drew Haney got off to a fast start scoring 8 of his 10 points in the first quarter, however, the Bombers would trail 18-13 after one quarter. Farmington would outscore Mountain Home 20-12 in the second quarter to take a 38-25 lead into the halftime break. The Cardinals would take a 53-35 lead into the final quarter. Due to the Bombers playing another game in less than 48 hours substitutes would play in the final quarter and Farmington would win 65-46 and remain undefeated in the 5A-west.
Mountain Home was led in scoring by Drew Haney with 10 points.
Mountain Home falls to 11-10 and 3-2 in the 5A-west.
Other boys scores from around the 5A-west include Alma defeating Van Buren 68-55, Russellville securing their first league win over Greenwood 75-59, and Siloam Springs running past Harrison.
