Officials with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office report that a 24-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell on Tuesday evening.
Kevonte Moore of Conway was discovered unresponsive at approximately 6:23 p.m. by deputies at the Regional Detention Facility. The detention center’s medical team responded immediately and began life-saving measures. A MEMS ambulance later arrived on scene, but Moore was pronounced dead.
Moore had been admitted to the facility earlier in the week, on January 17, by the Little Rock Police Department on charges of first-degree criminal mischief.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says an autopsy is being conducted by the state medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing, led by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation and Professional Standards units.
No further details have been released at this time.
