Mizzou brings three-game SEC streak into Saturday showdown with Texas

Riding a three-game SEC winning streak, Missouri returns home Saturday night to host Texas at Mizzou Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2 as the Tigers look to build on recent momentum.

Missouri Tigers men’s basketball enter the matchup 17-7 overall and 7-4 in conference play after victories over Mississippi State, South Carolina and Texas A&M. Five players scored in double figures in Wednesday’s road win at Texas A&M, led by Trent Pierce’s season-high 23 points.

Senior Mark Mitchell paces Missouri with 17.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, while Jayden Stone, Jacob Crews and Pierce also average double figures. The Tigers are scoring 80.5 points per game while allowing 73.9.

Saturday’s contest is Military Appreciation Day, and students will receive free pizza prior to tipoff.
