Arkansas men’s basketball coach John Calipari has secured a major addition to his 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr.

Smith Jr., a 6-foot-2, 200-pound standout from Paul VI Catholic, announced his decision Friday before a game at his high school with Calipari in attendance, according to On3. He is ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect and the nation’s top shooting guard in the 2026 class.

Smith Jr. joins five-star guard JJ Andrews, an Arkansas native, and four-star forward Abdou Toure in a highly regarded Razorbacks recruiting group.

According to recruiting rankings, Smith Jr. is expected to become the second-highest-rated signee in program history, behind former No. 1 overall prospect Nick Smith Jr.
