Arkansas college students interested in conservation careers have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience this summer through paid internships with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Applications are being accepted through March 15, 2026, at agfc.com/internships.

Funded by sales of the agency’s Conservation License Plates, the internships are designed to give students real-world experience while building professional skills and resumes.

“You won’t just be spending a summer stuffing envelopes or cutting the grass,” said Becky Bloomfield, AGFC internship and scholarship program coordinator. “Our interns work right alongside the people in the field, and their supervisors send them out with a variety of AGFC staff to give them a well-rounded experience of what working for conservation is all about.”

Positions are available statewide in several areas, including conservation education, wildlife management, fisheries management, information technology and geographic information systems, conservation research, environmental policy, and wildlife law enforcement.

Applicants must submit a current resume, a copy of their transcript — with official transcripts required before employment begins — and a one-page cover letter outlining their background, goals and how the internship will support their career plans.

More information about available positions and application requirements can be found on the AGFC website.
