
Arkansas women’s basketball (11-17, 0-13 SEC) dropped its 14th straight game Thursday night, falling 93-62 to No. 4 Texas (24-3, 10-3 SEC) inside Bud Walton Arena.The Razorbacks struggled offensively early, missing their first six field-goal attempts and scoring their first seven points from the free-throw line. Texas built a 18-9 lead after the opening quarter and pulled away in the second, using a 12-0 run to take a 47-27 advantage into halftime.
Arkansas showed brief momentum early in the third quarter behind Taleyah Jones, who scored seven straight points, but the Longhorns answered with consistent shooting and closed the period on a 6-0 run to extend the margin to 72-45. Texas maintained control in the fourth to seal the lopsided victory.
Bonnie Deas recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Jones led Arkansas in scoring and notched her 22nd game with at least 10 points this year. The Razorbacks did find success at the free-throw line, converting 24 of 32 attempts both SEC play highs for the team.
Texas placed five players in double figures, led by Madison Booker’s 21 points. Kyla Oldacre added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Arkansas will look to snap its losing streak Sunday when it travels to Texas A&M for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
