Arkansas State University-Mountain Home fell to Connors State College 12-3 Monday afternoon at Rogers High School in a game that slipped away in the middle innings.

The Cowboys opened the scoring in the third inning with two runs, then broke things wide open with a five-run fourth to seize control.

Sloan Foster got the start for the Trailblazers, working two and two-thirds innings while allowing two runs on four hits and striking out two. Wyatt Winters took the loss after Connors State scored five runs during his relief appearance. Kutler Schwarting provided a bright spot late, tossing three scoreless innings without allowing a hit.

Offensively, Jett Hannaford paced ASUMH with a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate, and Brayden Feather drove in a run. The Trailblazers also turned two double plays defensively.

Connors State finished with 11 hits, drew seven walks, and stole three bases to maintain pressure throughout the game.

ASUMH will try to rebound Friday when the Trailblazers travel to face Allen Community College.
