Jamie Ann Moore, 1980
A woman whose body was found along a railroad track in Conway County more than three decades ago has finally been identified, giving her family long-awaited answers.
The Conway County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police announced that the victim, known for 30 years only as Jane Doe, has been identified as Jamie Ann Moore of Conway. Moore would have been 32 years old at the time of her death.
Moore’s body was discovered October 24th, 1994, along railroad tracks near U.S. Highway 64 between Morrilton and Plumerville. The Arkansas State Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide. Despite extensive investigative efforts over the decades, her identity remained unknown until now.
The breakthrough came through investigative genetic genealogy, which combines DNA analysis with genealogical research. In 2016, the Conway County Quorum Court funded an initial forensic DNA profile and composite image through Parabon NanoLabs. In 2024, Othram Labs conducted advanced genealogical research that identified familial matches. Investigative Genetic Genealogist Stephanie Wyatt developed leads that pointed investigators toward a possible family member. After interviewing Moore’s potential daughter, a DNA sample was obtained for biological testing. On February 19th, 2026, the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory confirmed the match.
