The Mountain Home Lady Bomber softball team opened the 2026 campaign on Thursday afternoon.
Pottsville would strike first in the top of the first inning, but would surrender 4 runs to the Lady Bombers in the bottom half of the inning. Pottsville would chip into the lead scoring a run in the 3rd inning and would even take a 5-4 lead on Mountain Home in the 5th inning. Mountain Home would punch right back and retake and inevitably finish off the 6-5 victory.
Chloe Bohannon went the distance in the circle, pitching all seven innings and striking out seven to earn the win.
Maddie Simmons went 2-3 with a home run and one RBI. Kailyn Pope finished 1-2 and delivered a two-run homer. Bohannon helped her own cause by going 1-3 with an RBI, while Leah Bockstahler added a 1-3 performance with two runs batted in.
Mountain Home will open the regular season on March 7th against Fort Smith Southside.
