
Arkansas will open play in the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament Wednesday morning against No. 17 Kentucky.
The Razorbacks (12-19, 1-15 SEC), the tournament’s No. 16 seed, will face the ninth-seeded Wildcats (21-9, 8-8 SEC) at 10. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
Arkansas and Kentucky will meet for the 45th time overall and the 44th time since Arkansas joined the SEC in the 1991-92 season. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 29-16.
The two teams last met in the SEC Tournament in 2007, when Kentucky defeated Arkansas 72-57.
In their most recent matchup this season, then-No. 18 Kentucky beat the Razorbacks 93-73 in Fayetteville on Feb. 1. Arkansas trailed by six at halftime and briefly led by three midway through the third quarter before Kentucky pulled away.
The Wildcats have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the teams.
Arkansas is 11-9 against Kentucky in Fayetteville, 4-18 in games played in Kentucky, and 1-2 in neutral-site contests.
